Workday Prism Analytics - QBR Reporting Transformation

Workday Prism Analytics - QBR Reporting Transformation

A large HR function was spending roughly 20 hours every quarter manually compiling quarterly business review content, with no capacity to incorporate external benchmark data alongside it.

Our team designed and built a centralised analytics suite within Workday Prism - new custom data sets, external benchmark integration, and a single dashboard housing 36 reports across 50 HR metrics. QBR content that once took three working days now takes 10 minutes to produce. Delivered on time, within scope, and with a full knowledge transfer to the client's BAU team.

Project Overview

Client Background:

Our client utilized Workday Prism with existing data sets but faced a challenge in building out these sets to facilitate seamless reporting for their quarterly business reviews (QBR). Additionally, the client faced capacity constraints to incorporate external benchmark data into their analytics and build out the desired Reporting & Analytics suit.

Objectives:

  • Reduce the time taken to produce QBR content from days/hours to minutes.

  • Combine existing data with external benchmark data for comprehensive insights.

  • Create a centralized hub for QBR content, enabling managers to quickly retrieve key performance indicators (KPIs) through intuitive dashboards.

  • Making the most of existing applications and using Workday as the go-to tool for processing and delivery.

Project Process

Requirements Gathering: Engaged with business leaders to understand their specific needs and requirements for QBR content.

Analytics Build List: Agreed upon a comprehensive analytics build list, encompassing custom reports, dashboards, new prism data sets, and integration of external benchmark data.

Execution: Built out the capabilities, maintaining an agile method of working to bring in changes/amendments swiftly. Conducting extensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure accuracy and functionality of the end product.

Deployment: Implemented the design live in Workday, with collaboration from the internal team, creating a user-friendly interface for seamless navigation and successful go live.

Knowledge Transfer: Provided a detailed knowledge transfer document to empower the client's Business-As-Usual (BAU) team with the intricacies of the new design.
