These bras have printed instructions on the inside to ensure the girls understand how to perform their own checks every month. To date, 1,877 bras have been donated, giving girls access to quality, comfortable support that encourages physical activity and promotes body confidence.</p>								</div>

Partial Skill Strategy, Disintegrated Skills Landscape</h4><p id="ember6439" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph"><span style="font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align);">In partnership with this leading multinational, we reviewed their current and future Skills strategy and how their technology landscape facilitated their vision for becoming a skills-driven organization. Early on it became clear that the fragmented, siloed technology landscape led to two key issues:</span></p><ul><li><strong><em>Disconnected Data Landscape</em></strong> – having been led by the philosophy of “best in class technology” their tech and data landscape quickly became fragmented and disconnected. This resulted in data point duplications, complex integrations between systems and difficulty to report on and analyse data outcomes.</li><li><strong><em>Voice of the customer</em></strong> – another unintended consequence was a consistent theme in voice of the customer feedback loops of confusion of where to add which data, coupled with frustration to have to enter the same data in multiple systems.</li></ul><p id="ember6441" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph">The shift that this company had to adopt for an interconnected skills journey meant they had to make incremental changes in their tech landscape and their strategic approach to managing skills. Some of the strategic and most important interventions was to consolidate their people data &amp; talent related activities onto a smaller number of strategic platforms in order to improve both the data interoperability and the user experience.</p><p id="ember6442" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph">By bringing their annual Performance &amp; Feedback processes into Workday, they have observed an uptake in employee engagement which enabled them to swiftly shift focus to a metrics-based performance culture in the following year. By consolidating employee development activities onto Workday Career Hub, they have been able to deploy mentoring programmes at scale and across geographies, as well as maintain a healthy pipeline of development gigs. By implementing comprehensive reporting &amp; dashboards as part of these projects, the company was able to identify critical data gaps, anticipate, and prioritize key change initiatives and ultimately bolster employee engagement.</p><p id="ember6443" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph">As a result, they saw a 40% increase in self-reported employee talent data and an increase in the number of available flex team opportunities.</p><h3 id="ember6444" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__heading-3">B. Starting Out on Their Journey to Become a Skills Driven Organisation</h3><div> </div><p id="ember6445" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph">We collaborated with this top-tier global company to implement niche technology that supports their strategic goal of making development opportunities accessible to all employees. Here’s how we did it:</p><p id="ember6446" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph"><strong>Step 1: Enabling Skills Cloud in Workday</strong></p><p id="ember6447" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph">We began by implementing Skills Cloud in Workday, encouraging employees to build and maintain their skills profiles to support career development.</p><p id="ember6448" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph"><strong>Step 2: Introducing Career Hub and Opportunity Marketplace</strong></p><p id="ember6449" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph">Next, we piloted Career Hub and Opportunity Marketplace within specific parts of the organization. This agile deployment allowed the company to gather feedback, refine the process, and prepare for a broader rollout. The deployment of Flex Teams and Mentoring has been a key driver for employees to create and update their Career Hub profile as they review suggestions and search for Flex opportunities to support career development.</p><p id="ember6450" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph"><strong>Key Focus Areas from the Pilot:</strong></p><p><strong>1. Improving Data Quality for Machine Learning Suggestions:</strong></p><ul><li><strong><em>Job Catalogue Review</em></strong>: Ensuring job profiles accurately reflect relevant skills by refining generic profiles into more specific ones.</li><li><strong><em>Skill Curation</em></strong>: Enhancing machine learning capabilities by carefully curating skills for each job to improve suggestion accuracy.</li><li><strong><em>Flex Team Coordination</em></strong>: Working with Flex Team hosts to assign appropriate skills when creating new teams.</li></ul><p id="ember6453" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph"><strong>2. Any transformation that aims for success needs to include both <strong>technology transformation</strong> and strong <strong>change management practices</strong> that align with your organization&#8217;s unique needs and readiness. It is equally important to recognize that your Workday Skills Journey is always going to be a phased process and that it’s very important to tailor your phases and have patience as the new ways of working are embedded in both your technologies and your HR / People service.</p>								</div>

									<ul><li><strong>Assessment and Readiness</strong>: Before diving into a skills-based transformation, it is vital to evaluate your current HR technology landscape and workforce capabilities. Understanding where you stand in terms of skills inventory and technological support, to the rollout of your strategy is crucial. This stage involves identifying the gaps in your current system(s) and determining organizational readiness and appetite for adopting new processes. For more detail on this stage of your transformation, read our first article in this series <a class="app-aware-link " href="https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7192104483764486144" target="_self" data-test-app-aware-link="">here.</a></li><li><strong>Stakeholder Engagement</strong>: Once your initial assessment is complete, the next step is to plan the integration of skills into your Workday environment. The first step usually involves identifying key stakeholder groups that work with Skills data &#8211; these groups typically include your internal consultancy functions (such as Global Talent Management, Learning, People Analytics, Organizational Effectiveness / Development) or your HR Business Partnering group if you operate on a more direct model of the HR / People function. Once the key stakeholder groups are identified, it’s also important to map out what technologies are currently available and what functionality is being used by the different stakeholder groups, critically focusing on any Skills functionality that is already live and utilized – this will help you define your requirements and your technology baseline, as well as understanding how the key groups work together on any existing Skills projects or initiatives and how much access they have to each other’s data. Working together, these groups can get to work at defining skills that are critical for your business, aligning them with your strategic current and future business goals, and mapping out how these skills will be managed within Workday – keeping in mind the dual nature of skills data, which is both individual and organizational. <em>This stage is all about setting clear objectives for what you want to achieve through this transformation and making sure everyone involved has the same understanding of the work ahead.</em></li><li><strong>Implementation and Integration</strong>: With a plan in place and with stakeholder buy-in, the focus shifts to the practical aspects of implementation. This includes configuring your Workday environment to support skills-based management by activating the Workday Skills Cloud and making skills available for employees to input. A significant (but crucial) piece of work is defining key &amp; critical skills for your organization’s jobs on a more granular level – for which the strategic alignment work can serve as a basis, as that data serves as a basis for machine learning, suggestions, and employee development self-service initiatives. Additional work can be tailored to your individual needs such as setting up skills dashboards and tracking, integrating learning management systems, and ensuring that all data sources drawing on skills data are synchronized. Effective integration and availability of relevant data for the different groups within HR and people management is key to ensuring that the skills data flows seamlessly across all HR and business processes.</li><li><strong>Training and Adoption</strong>: To maximize the benefits of your new skills-based system, you should plan for comprehensive training and change management for HR teams and managers. A Skills-based organization represents a significant shift in Talent Management practices and key users should be comfortable with using the system to make informed decisions about talent in the context of their role. <em>A key element of successful adoption also involves regular feedback loops to refine the processes and ensure they meet the organization&#8217;s and employees’ needs.</em></li><li><strong>Evaluation and Scaling</strong>: The final stage of the Workday Skills Journey is evaluating the impact of the skills-based approach on organizational performance. This involves agreeing realistic and measurable ROI measures transparent to the organization, analysing metrics related to, for example recruitment efficiency, employee engagement, and business outcomes. Based on these insights, the system can be scaled and optimized as you get into the rhythm of continuous improvement.</li></ul>								</div>

Listed below are some <strong>key questions</strong> to think about and activities to prioritize in preparation for this transition:</p><ul><li><strong>Organizational Skills</strong>: Do you know what it takes to do the different jobs in your organization well? Who in your organization knows that and is it documented well? Is it documented at all? Developing a strategic view on skills that are critical to the future success of your organization can seem daunting, but it is the cornerstone of your future model. Make sure you set aside enough time to do this well and keep in mind that different approaches could work for different organizations – maybe you are used to operating in an agile environment and can divide the work into smaller stages with a bottom-up approach, or maybe it makes sense to create a more top-down program of work. In any case, keep in mind that this work is not “one &amp; done” and that keeping your organizational skills up to date will continue to be an investment of time even after the initial effort is completed.</li><li><strong>Individual Skills</strong>: How do you know that someone has a particular skill? Do you just ask them or do you test them? Can you use other data sources to make assumptions and suggestions? What about their manager’s or peers’ ratings? These questions are just a very small selection of questions we have come across in our work and are a foundation to any measured and considered approach to handling, maintaining, and utilizing individual skill data. Remember, one size does not fit all – some industries (like healthcare or manufacturing) have regulatory commitments in relation to skill building and maintenance, while others (like tech and marketing) can take a more flexible approach. Whatever your organizational circumstances might be, it is considered best practice to regularly use multiple data points to assess the skill levels of your workforce and keep your skills inventory as accurate and up to date as possible.</li><li><strong>Technology Architecture</strong>: Do you know what your HR Tech strategy is – near, mid and longer term? Are you leveraging the power of one centralized platform or are you committed to best-in-class niche technology providers? How and where do you analyse your HR data and what outcomes are you looking to achieve? Understanding the technological landscape is increasingly becoming a key skill for senior HR professionals, and a transition to a more skills-based organization is a great opportunity to review and refresh your technology ecosystem and strategy. Broadly speaking &#8211; utilizing scalable and integrated HR technologies that support skills tracking and analysis is critical to ensuring that skill data is accessible to key stakeholders in an easily digestible and actionable way.</li><li><strong>Culture:</strong> Is your company culture genuinely supportive of continuous development? Do your employees trust you with their data? Do leaders really make data-based decisions on key moments that matter to employees, like career progression? So often overlooked, real culture shift towards answering all of those questions with a “yes” is critical to the success of any and all Skills initiatives. Foster a corporate culture that values continuous learning and skill development, encouraging employees to take ownership of their professional growth and walking the talk when it comes to data-based decision making.</li></ul><p> </p><p id="ember5975" class="ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph">It’s also important to recognize that not all the activities listed will be relevant to all organizations – some organizations might need to focus more on their technology ecosystem and architecture, and some might need more business buy-in and culture work – what good preparation looks like is always going to be closely linked to your unique circumstances. However, the one thing that is universally true is that recognizing the importance of investing effort in transformation towards a skills-based organization is just the first of many steps in this journey.</p>								</div>

We make it a point to ensure that the individuals and families who rely on us have access to a continuous supply of fresh and nourishing bread, a variety of fruits, and an assortment of vegetables. </p><p>Furthermore, recognizing the importance of protein and sustenance for balanced nutrition, we also provide occasional meaty bones, a crucial ingredient for the soup kitchens that are at the heart of many communities in the informal settlements we serve. These soup kitchens play an integral role in addressing hunger and nourishing those who might otherwise go without. Our goal is to provide not only immediate relief but also to contribute to the overall well-being and dignity of the people we are privileged to support. VirtualResource has since taken the initiative to establish gardens that are specifically designed to be self-sustaining sources of fresh produce for our local soup kitchens.</p>								</div>

									<p>In addition to the community support we provide, VirtualResource sends food to schools and Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers in the townships. <b>A child cannot learn on an empty stomach, </b>and often this is the only meal a child will receive for the whole day. We have personally made up and delivered food parcels, as well as nappies, formula, hygiene products and masks to thousands of people in need. </p><p><strong>We continue to feed 20 000 people a month.</strong></p>								</div>
